Welcome to the Neurodiverse Training Community

This community is a friendly space for neurodivergent people, families, carers, educators, employers and professionals to ask questions, share ideas and learn from one another. The aim is to make useful conversations easier to find, so that people can come back to them later and others can benefit from them too.

This forum is a public, community-moderated discussion space. It is not a clinical service, medical service, therapy service, crisis service or substitute for professional advice. Nothing posted in the forum should be treated as clinical advice. This includes posts or replies from members of the Neurodiverse Training team, which are shared for general discussion, signposting or community support and are not provided in a clinical capacity.

What can I post here?

You can post questions, ideas and experiences that relate to neurodiversity, inclusion, training, learning, work, education or support. This might include questions about understanding neurodivergent experiences, making workplaces or learning spaces more accessible, preparing for training, supporting someone in a practical way, or sharing a useful resource.

Only people who have signed up to the website can post in the forum or reply to other posts. However, the forum itself is public, which means anyone may be able to read what is posted. Please only share information that you are comfortable making public, and avoid posting private personal details about yourself or anyone else.

Anything you choose to post is something you are choosing to share publicly. Anything you choose to try, follow up on or act on after reading the forum is also your own decision. Please use your own judgement, and seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional where needed.

This is a community-moderated space. People in the community help shape the conversations by posting, replying, reporting concerns and treating one another respectfully. We will do our best to remove posts that are unsafe, unkind, misleading or inappropriate, but we are not responsible for everything other people share, say or suggest in the forum.

What should I avoid posting?

Please do not post anything that is abusive, shaming, discriminatory, deliberately inflammatory or dismissive of other people’s lived experience. Please also avoid posting private personal information about yourself or someone else, including medical details, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or anything that could identify another person without their permission.

Please do not use the forum to seek urgent help, crisis support or individual clinical advice. If you or someone else may be at immediate risk, please contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis service in your area. If you need medical, psychological, legal, safeguarding or other professional advice, please speak to a suitably qualified professional.

Please do not tell other people to start, stop or change medication, therapy, treatment or professional support. You may share your own experience, but other people’s needs, risks and circumstances may be different from yours.

How should I write my post?

Please try to be clear, kind and specific. It is helpful to explain what you are asking, what context matters, and what kind of support or answer would be useful. You do not need to write perfectly, use technical language or have all the right words. Clear, respectful communication is enough.

Can I answer other people’s questions?

Yes. If you have relevant knowledge, experience or a useful resource, you are welcome to reply. Please make it clear when you are sharing personal experience rather than professional advice. If you disagree with someone, respond to the idea rather than attacking the person.

Please remember that your reply may be read by people in many different circumstances. What helped you, your child, your family or your organisation may not be right for someone else. Try to phrase suggestions as personal experience or signposting, not as instructions.

Can I promote my services or events?

Using the forum to advertise will result in your use being restricted or removed. This includes repeated promotional posts, spam, affiliate-style links, or posts that mainly exist to drive people toward a product, practitioner, course, service, medication, supplement, remedy or treatment.

We do welcome people signposting useful things to each other. It is fine to say that a particular resource, event, therapist, psychologist, support approach, medication, sleep strategy or type of treatment has been helpful for you or your family, as long as you are sharing personal experience rather than telling other people what they should do.

Please do not promote prescription medication, herbal remedies, supplements, therapies or products as cures for autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia or any other type of neurodivergence. We may remove posts that make cure claims, repeat promotional links, push unproven or harmful treatments, pressure other people, or appear to be spam. Blatant advertising of a medication, remedy, treatment, practitioner or service may result in a ban.

A helpful way to think about the difference is this: sharing “this helped me” is usually fine; pushing “this will cure you” or repeatedly advertising a product, practitioner or treatment is not.

How can I report a concern?

Because this is a community-moderated forum, we may not see every post immediately. If you see something that feels unsafe, unkind, misleading, promotional, inappropriate or otherwise concerning, please let us know so we can review it.

You can report a concern by emailing enquiries@neurodiversetraining.com. Please include a link to the post or page, a short explanation of your concern, and any relevant context that will help us review it.

What happens if a post breaks the guidelines?

Posts or replies may be edited, hidden or removed if they make the community unsafe, unhelpful or difficult to use. If needed, a member may also be restricted from posting. The goal is not to police every word, but to protect the space and keep it useful for everyone.

Who is this community for?

This community is for people who want to learn, share and support better understanding of neurodiversity. That includes neurodivergent people, parents and carers, employers, educators, trainers, professionals and allies. You are welcome whether you are new to the topic or already experienced.
